2025 iRacing Bathurst 12hr

I spoke to @Kenadian last night and he is not going to drive, so that leaves seven drivers. Can folks indicate which race times they would be interested in?
My preference would be Saturday 12:00 GMT, but I would be alright with Friday 22:00 and Saturday 07:00 as well.

Since we have 7 drivers, what do you think about two teams with 3 and 4 drivers?

That works for me. I won't be there for the beginning of the race if it's 12:00 gmt but I'm sure the euro guys can handle it :)

I can do any of them, as I took the day off. I'd even be down to do the first and the last one, if anyone is interested in those. The 2nd time-slot would be my last choice.

What do you think about the following team composition?
Team 1:
* Deb
* Alex
* Friend of Alex
* Matt

Team 2:
* Reggie
* Marc
* Noël

That should leave quite a bit of stint time for those of us who like to drive many stints. If you're doing 30 laps, a stint is 63+ minutes, and if it rains it can get to 75+ minutes.

Nothing about Bathurst in the rain is fun. In fact, it's anti-fun. They need to offer a rain-free version of endurance events. For some of us this is still a hobby that we want to have fun doing.

Remember Max TC, Max ABS, and iRacing now allows wing changes on a pit-stop (10 second penalty, but it should start when the tyres are done and be finished before the fuel is finished) so you're not limited to 6.5 or 7.5 wing. It'll still be brutal, though...

Yeah, there are wet settings for TC, I think 8 - 12 in the McLaren. It helps some. I didn't change ABS but I will likely tomorrow to test if it helps. Since it looks like rain at the beginning of the race, probably makes sense to start with more wing.

Thankfully we can turn the wing down at the pit stop, so yeah, starting with more wing, max ABS, max TC is probably the play. Then when it drys out we can make any pit stop / in car adjustments we need.

I checked this yesterday, (but feel free to check for yourselves) the 10 seconds for the wing did not start until the service for fuel and tyres was complete. Still worth it for me though as I would definitely lose more than 10 seconds with a sketchy or worse still, wrecked car from not having enough down force.

I was practicing with:

ABS 9
TC 9
Wing 8.5
BB 51%

It's definitely better than dry settings, I can make it around the track, but there are some spots that are extra treacherous. The whole down hill and the chase are really sketchy. I lose all my time there, but equally if I try and claw the time back it's a 50/50 shot whether I am going to lazy spin around Forest Elbow, or swap ends braking for the chase.

Friend of mine got a call from work yesterday evening and informed me today that he won't be able to make it, because he got work on the weekend. Sorry for that!
I'm still going and I can take on a few more stints if needed.

From watching some other people drive, at least it's not only the McLaren that gets the lazy spins in Forrest's Elbow.

Then I think we need to do the last race since I am on central time and Matt is on pacific time. It starts at 16:00 GMT. @ByteAlex can do stints earlier in the race so he doesn't have to stay up crazy late. I can take a 3rd stint that will leave 3 or 4 stints for Alex and the rest for Matt, who wanted to drive a lot. I think this will also help getting everyone registered for the race since we will all be there. @Noodleguitar, please give me single stints only.
