2025 iRacing Bathurst 12hr

Thank you @Deb, i believe i used 'medium downforce endurance' with high friction pads. It felt pretty good but i don't know much about setups so wouldn't really have much to compare it to.

I'll be out of the country next week until Thursday, so I'm planning to do a bunch of practice after that.

We probably have enough drivers for two teams, perhaps different manufacturers if needed. Not sure about the rest of you but I am never opposed to driving a lot at Bathurst :)

@Reggie , we usually run medium friction brake pads on endurance setups to put it in the middle of different preferences. Not sure about the modern GT3 cars but I don't think the difference in brake pad material is that enormous. I used to prefer high friction but I think I was using too much ABS at that time as well.

Hey,
I only realized this thread is already running when Nejtun reminded me to check the forum.

I'd like to participate in the 12h of Bathurst, and I'll bring a +1. Both of us only want to drive a limited amount of time, as we're planning to run the 6h of Le Mans in the CONSPIT Endu on the same weekend.
I'd love if we can make it work anyway!

Hi everyone! I might be looking to do the Bathurst 12hr this year. I won't know if I'll have to work until the start of the week of the event. I'm going to start practicing soon so I'm ready if I'm able to attend. I'll fill in more of my details/preferences in the next couple days.

I don't mind driving a bunch of stints at Bathurst, so however the teams filter out, I'm fine being on the smaller / more stints team.

This is definitely enough for two teams and maybe three depending on how many stints people want to drive. Do folks want to indicate how many stints they want so we can divide up and see how many teams? I know myself, 2 would be enough for me at Bathurst.
Same goes for my friend and me, both of us are planning to do the 6h race on le mans on the same weekend, so we're happy to do 2-3 stints each.

The TC especially likes to kick on the exit of the final corner if you hit the curbing. I've lost a few tenths there just listening to the TC wind up on the 3D curb. To the point where I've started not using all the exit. Maybe turning TC down will help.

Here are two setups. I like the wing 6.5 setup better but try them out. You may need to brake slightly earlier on entry to the downhill. Also, some may want to adjust TC as it seems a little heavy. Let me know what you think.
Cheers Deb.
the 7.5 wing setup is a sprint set and fails tech if you put even a couple of litres of fuel in, it is nice though and probably great for sprint races next week!
the 6.5 didn't have great drive out of the corners but an extra click of wing to 7.5 seemed to do the trick!

@Nejtun do you know what temperature you were driving in? I thought the 6.5 wing was the fastest for me at temperature of 69 F but leaving the wing at 6.5. A little more precarious on the downhill if you brake late, but definitely faster on straights. I may have posted the wrong 7.5 if it is not full fuel.

Default weather (27 degrees) @Deb 12 noon. the extra degree of wing added to the 6.5 set took away that bit of sketchiness over the mountain and in the heavy braking zones, plud gave that extra bit of grip for acceleration.

I haven't tried the 7.5 wing setup because it does not have full fuel, but to me the 6.5 wing setup felt very stable. The only instability I found was braking across Skyline, but I don't expect a click of wing to significantly change that. Even in almost 60 C degrees track conditions, the left-handers were not a problem.

I would prefer if we run the IMSA Short gear stack. The FIA stack feels quite bad on the straights, because you barely use the gear before the braking zone appears.

What about @ShadniX?

I spoke to @Kenadian last night and he is not going to drive, so that leaves seven drivers. Can folks indicate which race times they would be interested in?
