Budget: €2,000 for the PC, 20 to 30% more if necessary.
About €400 extra for peripherals.
Where do you live? In Germany and I'm paying in euros.
Is there a preferred retailer? No.
Do you need any peripherals, or do you already have them? I don't have a mouse or keyboard.
What will you use your Glorious computer for? Gaming, surfing, and watching 4K movies are my top priorities.
Do you overclock or do you want to start? I don't know anything about it at the moment, but I'd like to do it later.
Are you planning on getting a custom water cooling system now or in the future? Maybe. I'm not confident in water cooling at the moment because of too many bad reviews, although I like it. I'm just afraid something will happen because I haven't maintained it properly.
Operating system: Do you need a new one? Yes, I'm considering using Linux, but I don't know anything about Linux; I've never used it.
If you're gaming:
What settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play? I like high FPS, anything that makes the game run smoothly without stuttering.
What resolution will you play at? /or do you want to play at? WQHD at least, 4K would be best for me.
What type of games do you like to play? Action, open world, Souls-like, role-playing, adventure.
What specific game will you play (if you only play one)? I'd really like to play Star Citizen.
If you're rendering or editing:
What application do you use for rendering? (Very important)
Do you render movies or just Photoshop images? No.
If you don't have any peripherals:
What keyboard do you prefer? Mechanical keyboard, scissor keyboard, membrane keyboard, etc. I don't know, I've never looked into it, but the keystrokes shouldn't be very loud, as I also play at night.
What type of mouse grip do you use? Palm, claw, or combination keyboard? Just normal hand on the mouse; I don't know anything else.
What monitor size and resolution are you looking for? Screen type (IPS, S-IPS, TN, etc.), Hertz (60, 120, etc.). I'll get a monitor a little later, but it should be a good fit for the system, with a sharp, smooth image, high Hertz and refresh rate.
Other notes:
I want to build a gaming PC myself, but there are a few obstacles, such as choosing the right components. The market is huge, and each part has multiple manufacturers. Even if the main components are produced by a handful of manufacturers, it's the middlemen who put their stamp on the parts.
My problem is that I'm having trouble making the right choice, especially which hardware is optimal for gaming. Even though almost every part on the market is suitable for gaming, you still want to buy the right hardware to get the most out of it.
