Nice to see them patching so soon but I'd really love to see them work on some of the bigger issues. Right now the Land Creeper (or whatever that multi user tank is called) is severely OP.

They nerfed the little guy to oblivion already where you can only kill a soldier with a direct headshot most of the time so this really needs fixing.

The airship also has stupid amounts of splash damage and also needs some damage tweaking. I probably hit that thing 8 times with the main shell from my tank and barely did a thing to it.

The Medic Class is severely outgunned with accuracy dropping to 0 the quicker you fire. This needs to chance badly as a DMR is no match for anything even mid range so quick firing (even sometimes hip firing) is essential.

The fall patch has been released, 2 Gb download. Massive list with tons of fixes, here's a notable addition.

"Adding an option to filter the kill log in the HUD. You can now choose to show all, squad, self or nearby."

This is like "counting cards", takes some practice but once comfortable can really give an edge and boost situational awareness. Set it for squad or nearby.

Oh, and can a admin change the title to "patch thread" or something akin, a good thread for discussion of patch releases and changes. Thanks

Done.

And this filter I can see being very handy, especially the "nearby" option. Right now I feel like the battlefield is complete chaos which I know WW1 was but it feels too much like CoD at the moment to me and anything to bring a little strategy and tactics back to BF1 would entice me to play more for sure.

Yup. This is actually huge as the kill screen I never even bothered enabling because it just scrolls too much irrelevant information too fast. Now that a soldier can tailor it to display relevant information for the surrounding area it can actually be quite a game changer. I used to pay close attention to it in the 1942/Vietnam days, even changing how the chat was displayed (there was a patch that allotted a new chat display style that most never knew aboot). Was REALLY handy. I still think players can spawn in a little too fast in these newer Battlefield games but I know this won't be changing so better get used to it.

Good teamwork & squad play just got a major buff.

And another one that should be very effective is changing the minimap from "rotate with player" to "static" so that up is always north and thus very quick voice info can be relayed on the enemies position. I know there's a compass but with "rotate with player" enabled I personally find it takes a longer to interpret what I'm seeing and giving proper directions than if the map is static. Start learning which way is north on all maps ala BF1942 style and very good things happen to the point where the minimap isn't even needed for direction.

Overall I think the changes are a step in the right direction but I would have loved to see either damage added or recoil reduced on some of the DMR's. As it is Medic is a shit class and it could really benefit from a buff, even a small one.

Maybe even higher a bit higher point count when reviving enemies would be enough to get more people into the class.

As it is the best class to put you on top of the scoreboard right now is Support Class by far. All you need to do is stand next to a group of guys and spam ammo kits while taking pot shots at people.

I didn't see a nerf for the 5 man tank, does anyone know if it received one? That thing is way too OP.

Also remember to check your load outs after the patch. I found that aside from my main weapon selection, all other load outs were reset back to there original state.

Seems this patch has downgraded the graphics.

Here's a good post that makes a lot of sense to me.

I think I know what the problem is.
I usually run the Render.DrawScreenInfo command in my user config file, and today I noticed something I've never seen before. Right after the DirectX version label and screen resolution, there is now (HDR_disabled), in parentheses just like that. I've never seen that before, in BF1 or any other Frostbite game.
Without HDR enabled (we're talking about HDR mechanics in game that render the subtle differences in the way light is reflected, not some monitor or tv technology) the image would look more flat or bland, almost like it has a grayish tinted filter, and other elements such as colors and textures wouldn't pop as much.
After seeing some of the comparison screen caps showing pre-patch vs post, it's pretty obvious the lighting is what had a downgrade. So I'm pretty sure this (HDR_disabled) thing is what's causing the perceived graphics downgrade.

Maybe it's a glitch from the patch. Maybe it's something they disabled for the time being to resolve another performance issue. Whatever the reason, it's never been like this before.
Also, many users bringing forth an issue with 100% CPU usage, this has been around since day 1 though. We're talking new Intel 4 core Haswells & Skylakes processors using 100% resources. Throw in a shit NVidia driver released 2 days ago and the issues are real.

Personally I've been lucky, game runs quite good for me although since the patch I get shit frames in one particular area of a map (Empire's Edge I believe) and it's now been dubbed the Fortress of Lag. Wouldn't be a BF game without one.

The patch has killed my frames overall. The game ran like butter for me before and that's running everything on low or medium except meshes which are on Ultra.

I couldn't stream it the other day either. I was dropping frames like crazy which I'm hoping isn't caused by the game.

We'll see tonight I suppose.

Yeah, frames took a massive dump for many. Last night I was down to 35 fps in some areas when I'm normally getting about 90. For the most part it hasn't affected me but in some areas of maps it certainly has.

Also, just to rant but it seems that when plugging in a console style controller for PC version of BF1 an auto-aim assist feature is enabled. WTF kind of horseshit is that?

It's because it's a port and most games on consoles have an aim assist feature.

Personally I can't imagine why anyone would use a controller on PC, it's a huge disadvantage.

Wow. From that thread that kit posted...

I use a controller to fly the planes and that's it but if this aim assist thing is the real deal then that's a big **** up. I do have to question whether the above video's proof that it is a thing would work on either a moving target or a target further away?

Interesting though.

omg, that better be patched out immediately.

I have no idea how it works because even on console it's one of the first things I disable.

Kitlope

Hardcore
Yeah. It's looking like not so huge of a disadvantage and a big advantage. Snaps right to the enemy. Unreal.

I wonder how that would look if the TARGET were moving, rather than just stationary... He's moving around, but I wonder if it would track a moving target that well. I can't imagine it would. That would be a straight up aim bot, not an 'assist'.

So they nerf the syringe for Medics. The one class in the entire game than needs buffs they decide to nerf, idiots!

Their worried about revive trains so they added a cool down to the syringe. I don't know about you guys but I get revived so rarely this is only going to make things worse.

What they need to do is buff the hip fire of all DMR's so we have at least some chance at medium range against LMG's and SMG's.

Oh and they fixed mortar effectiveness, was that even broken? Mortar spam and grenade spam is what they should address.

I do like the fact they fixed the flare gun though. I can't tell you how many times I light myself on fire with that thing

BTW Kitty I won't be able to play the new map with you tonight, I don't have Premium and won't purchase it until I see what's coming. This means the new map won't drop for me and others until the 20th of December.
